Closing Out 2024: A Heartfelt Update & Looking Ahead to 2025

As we approach the end of 2024, I have some bittersweet news to share. Unfortunately, our Instagram page was deactivated, and my heart is truly heavy. This has been a challenging way to close out the year, but I remain hopeful that 2025 will bring us the break we so desperately need.

The silver lining? We’ve managed to recover our old Instagram page that was lost almost four years ago! Please reconnect with us there, and let’s rebuild stronger together. Starting January 1st, the Stiletto Awards will open for nominations. Juneteenth, Pride Month, and cannabis legalization all hold profound significance in the ongoing pursuit of equality, justice, and freedom for marginalized communities. Cannabis legalization intersects with these movements by addressing the historical injustices and disparities that have disproportionately impacted marginalized communities, including Black, Queer, and other minority groups. By acknowledging the intersectionality of the struggles between these groups, we then can recognize the interconnected nature of social justice movements and the collective efforts needed to create a more just and equitable society. The importance of Juneteenth, Pride Month, and cannabis legalization lies in their shared commitment to justice, equality, and liberation for all individuals regardless of race, gender, or sexual orientation. These observances serve as reminders of our shared humanity and the ongoing work needed to ensure that everyone has equal rights, freedoms, and opportunities in our society.
